Why Choose BERG PlayBase
Unlike a wooden climbing frame, there is no painting, no rot and no annual treating. Just years of play, sport and relaxation.
Zero Maintenance
Galvanised, powder-coated steel. No painting, no rot, no splintering, and no annual treating or staining like a wooden frame.
10-Year Frame Warranty
10 years on the frame, rising to 13 years when you register it with BERG.
Modular Design
Swap accessories as your kids grow. Start with swings, add a climbing wall, then a pull-up bar. One frame, evolving possibilities.
Swappable Accessories
Accessories clip onto the carabiner points and move between frames. Nets come sized per frame, and the hammock needs the Large.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about BERG PlayBase climbing frames in Ireland.
What is a BERG PlayBase climbing frame?
A modular outdoor play system with a galvanised, powder-coated steel frame. Instead of a fixed design, PlayBase uses interchangeable accessories — swings, climbing walls, nets, fitness gear and a hammock — that clip onto the frame's carabiner points, so you can set it up for play, sport or relaxation and change it as your children grow.
What sizes does BERG PlayBase come in?
Four sizes: the wall-mounted Wall (from €999, 3 carabiner points), the Medium (from €1,499, 4 points), the Large (from €1,749, 6 points) and the Extra Large (from €1,999, 8 points). Every frame is 1m deep and 2.45m high and comes in Black or Green.
How is PlayBase different from wooden climbing frames?
Steel, not timber, so there is no annual treating, staining or rot. The accessories swap as children grow, and the frame carries a 10-year warranty, rising to 13 years when you register it with BERG.
Do you deliver nationwide?
Yes, across Ireland and Northern Ireland. Delivery is free on orders over €300, which covers every PlayBase frame and set. Frames are held in our Irish warehouse, with 48-hour delivery on models in stock and typically 7 to 10 days otherwise. Orders under €300 are €11.99 to deliver.
Can I add PlayBase accessories later?
Yes — start with a frame and one or two accessories and add more whenever you like. Most accessories fit any frame; the climbing nets and soccer target nets come in a size for each frame, the Platform + Slide does not fit the Wall, and the hammock needs the Large frame.
How much does a BERG PlayBase cost in Ireland?
Frames start at €999 for the Wall, €1,499 for the Medium, €1,749 for the Large and €1,999 for the Extra Large. Ready-made sets with accessories run from €1,038 (Wall + Swing set) to €2,765 (Extra Large + Ultimate set). Individual accessories start at €29.
Is BERG PlayBase better than a wooden climbing frame?
It depends what you value. PlayBase is steel, so there is no annual treating or staining and no rot, the accessories can be swapped from toddler swings to a boxing bag as children grow, and the frame warranty is 10 years (13 when registered). A wooden frame has a more natural look and is often cheaper up front.
How is BERG PlayBase installed?
No concrete is needed. The free-standing Medium, Large and Extra Large are held by underground base anchors set with a spade and a spirit level; the Wall fixes to a solid house or garden wall. Allow clear space for the swings: 4m × 3m in front of the Wall, 6m × 4m for the Medium, 7m × 5m for the Large and 8.5m × 6m for the Extra Large. We don't offer an assembly service, but we can put you in touch with an independent installer.
Can adults use the BERG PlayBase?
Yes. The frame takes a maximum load of 400kg, and each accessory has its own limit: the pull-up bar, dip bar, fitness rope and resistance bands are rated for ages 14 and up and up to 100kg, the nest swing takes up to 150kg, and the swing seat, trapeze and gym rings up to 80kg.
